Hi there
I hope this message finds you well and filled with wanderlust. I couldn't help but notice that many of you have been on the hunt for some amazing itineraries for your upcoming Scottish adventure. Well, guess what? I've got just the thing for you!
As a passionate traveller and blogger, I've put together a collection of valuable resources on my blog that will make planning your trip to Scotland a breeze. Whether you're seeking breathtaking landscapes, historical landmarks, or hidden gems off the beaten path, my itineraries have got you covered.
Apparently, the hardest thing to know when booking the flight is to know when the right time to book. As flight prices depend on many factors, some as simple as supply and demand, it’s important to compare airline deals against booking engines.
Before you make the booking, make sure you read the fine print, because some tickets, although cheaper, might have less flexible terms and conditions.
The cheapest way to travel is to come in the off-season, so for Scotland, it would be anytime between November and the end of March. Also, starting your trip during the week, not on a weekend, might also be a cheaper option.
Indirect flights through less popular destinations could significantly reduce the price of your ticket. For instance, for travellers from the USA and Canada, cheaper flight options could include a stopover in Dublin (Ireland) or through Reykjavik (Iceland) rather than London.
Generally speaking, all transportation tickets tend to get more expensive at the last minute, but it still depends on the demand.
Here is a list of the most popular flight booking engines
WayAway is a flight aggregator that provides travellers with the best rates on airline tickets. Users can also purchase the WayAway Plus membership plan, which gives cashback on flights, accommodation, car rentals, tours, and more
Kiwi is quite special in that it has a “nomad” search function, which searches for the cheapest possible route between cities. With the nomad tool, you can enter all the cities you’d like to visit, along with how long you’d like to stay in each city and Kiwi will work out the cheapest possible option. Kiwi lets you search a number of different departure cities and/or countries as well as a bunch of different destinations, all at the same time. It also offers a guarantee that protects you should you incur any flight delays, cancellations, or changes. Other than that, it also offers flexible search engines and a flight alert function
Tip: If you already have an idea of your itinerary/ trip/ road trip it might make sense and is sometimes cheaper to start and end your trip in different airports. For example, you can start your trip in Glasgow and finish it in Edinburgh.
Skyscanner is good for searching for the best deals when you know your dates. You can also see the cheapest flight within a month of those dates, which works great when you can be flexible

Hey Reader The next step is to book your accommodation. This means you start to think about exactly what type of the accommodation you want. I think the key factor when deciding on accommodation is to determine the reason for your visit to Scotland. Is it a short city break? Long stay in the countryside? Road trip or hiking in the mountains? Is there a special occasion to celebrate? Whatever type of trip you are planning, there is something for everyone’s style and budget. But I agree that...
Hi Reader I'm frequently asked when to buy flights and the cheapest way to get to Scotland. I recently attended a workshop How to Find a Cheap Flight, and what I learned was a no-brainer: buy flight tickets when they're cheap. Seriously? Absolutely! It may seem like common sense, but timing is crucial when it comes to booking flights. Airlines often release their cheapest seats several months in advance, so keeping an eye on prices and being flexible with your travel dates can lead to...
